Blog Post #I ...... Chapter 4

Teaching goals, methods and procedures
Each teacher has to decide what they will use with their class. Reasons why lessons are being taught are because of goals. Methods are ways teachers convey their content to their students. During a lesson the time, grouping and scheduling of the students are done by the teachers and these are called procedures. With this being said all three of these combined are the format for students daily learning. Technology also supports the way lessons are developed like software, websites, blogs and other types of technology.

Approaches to lesson planning
A huge roll in teaching that correlates with goals, methods and procedures would be lesson planning. Lesson plans are how all three of those elements are organized and put together. students learning objectives tell who is going to do what, when, how much or how often and how it will be done.    Learning objectives tell the outcomes after a lesson is taught. Technology has become a huge part is lesson planning, using the internet for resources. Most lesson planning is done on the computer and submitted to the principle.

Assessing and evaluating students
There are many steps to assess and evaluate students such as testing. There are norm referenced tests and criterion referenced tests. Norm tests are where students scores are compared to other students their age and criterion tests are compared and evaluated to personal performance. There are also standardized tests that are from the state, these tests students and score them based on their age range and then also their performance rates the school and the teachers performance as well. There are many approaches to assessing and evaluating students more than just testing them, such as watching them in class and their grades and participation in class as well.
